the tournament's top scorer.
The 1979/80 Sun Soccercard (using the name "Sandor Koscis") notes: "Sandor
has a remarkable scoring record for Hungary. Seven times he scored three or
more goals in a match for his country in a total of 75 games. Played in both
the matches in which Hungary beat England, 6-3 and 7-1 in the 1953/54
season. Koscis scoring twice in the second match. In the 1954 World Cup
Finals he scored 11 goals. In one spell of three seasons in Hungary with his
club he scored 99 goals". |
