B.A.B. Products.
B.A.B. represents one of the mystery
producers of football stickers, since you hardly ever see their name
printed. Does anyone know anything about this company? If so, please
email me.
Untangling the mystery of the B.A.B. stickers is one of the great
journeys of this website. Each year I find out a little bit more
about the sets and the number of stickers in each set. This page is
therefore changed quite regularly as new information comes to light.
It is possible, even likely, that some of the stickers on this page
may not be from BAB at all! |

1970s |
World Cup
Footballers (International). Round stickers with the
player's head, name and team name. Plain white backs. The set clearly targets the 1970 World Cup so was produced
perhaps just before the tournament, say March 1970?
Set size: 42 (not sure!) |

World Cup
Footballers (England players). Round stickers with the
player's head, name and team name. Plain white backs. Same style as the
international players, but English players with team name. I've assumed
that they represent some of the England squad, but perhaps not?
Set size: 24 (not sure!) |

Player shields.
1970/71. Garishly coloured shields with drawn player
heads. Really interesting set though. I've dated them from Alan Birchenall who is featured in Crystal Palace colours. Birchenall went to
Palace in June 1970 and left to go to Leicester City in September 1971.
Set size: 42 (not sure!) |

Player circles. Round
stickers with the player's head and name.. The word "permanent" is in red on backs.
This set is, apparently, also available with the team name on the
sticker. Quite rare!

Footballer Shooting Stars. Shield-shaped stickers with the player's head, name and team name in a
yellow box. Plain white backs.
I'm sure that there were two, perhaps three, versions of this set, one dating from
1970/71 and certainly another two years later in 1972/73. The editions can be dated from
player transfers like Alan Birchenall (featured in one set as a Crystal
Palace player, and in another as a Leicester City player - transferred
in September 1971). The 1972/73 set includes Alun Evans of Aston Villa, the club he was transferred to in June 1972.
Set size: 42 each edition (perhaps, although BAB may have just
issued new stickers each year to supplement last year's printing). |

Team rosettes.
These rosettes were issued in the early 1970s. It is believed that they
may have been issued for the 22 teams in the First Division in 1970/71,
and then supplemented each year with the two teams promoted from the
Second Division i.e. Birmingham City and Norwich City in 1971/72, Burnley and Q.P.R. in 1972/73 and Middlesbrough and
Luton Town in 1973/74.
Set size: 22 (1970/71), 22 (1971/72), 22 (1972/73), 22 (1973/74), 22
(1974/75). |

Team shields (straight sides,
team emblems).
BAB produced a number of team shield stickers, including club teams and
internationals. This set is printed with brown backs or white backs,
suggesting perhaps that they were produced over a number of years. The
white backs have 'FasPrint', Fasson, Leiden, Holland
discernible on the backing paper. The sides to the shields are sharp, as
opposed to the rounded sides set below. There appears to be a
near-identical set to this set, but with a player image in front of the
club colours instead of the logo (see below).

Team shields (rounded sides).
This set is printed with white backs, with 'FasPrint', Fasson,
Leiden, Holland discernible on the backing paper. The set appears to
include a larger number of teams than the straight-sided set, though it
is not known whether or not it includes any international teams. The
shield designs are different from the straight-sided sets. The set comprises the 44 teams in Divisions One and Two in 1971/72 which,
if correct, would date the stickers to mid 1971.
Set size: 44 |

Team shields (Soccer Dip). Apparently you got these shields in packets of Soccer Dip, a small,
square packet of (I think) sherbet. The stickers come with either a
white or a brown backing paper, perhaps suggesting two different sets or
years. There are some known colour differences between the white and
brown backed versions.
