Nigel's season summary: West Bromwich were long-time residents in Division One, following their promotion to the top flight in 1948/49. In 1968/69 they finished 10th in the League. They were beaten in the semi-finals of the F.A. Cup, following their success as 1-0 Cup Winners over Everton the previous season.

West Brom. legend who joined the club from Notts County in 1964. Made 290 league appearances, scoring 137 goals, in a career lasting until injury forced his retirement in 1974. Another club legend who spent his whole professional career at the Hawthorns. Signed professional in 1963 and stayed until 1980. Stalwart from played for QPR before a transfer to WBA in January 1961 for 17,000. Made 300 league appearances for West Brom. before a June 1969 return to QPR. Only 19 league appearances for West Brom. between 1967 and 1969 before a transfer to Huddersfield where he enjoyed success. 63 league appearances between 1964 and 1969 before a move to Ipswich. Retired in June 1976.

Joined West Brom. in February 1967 from Bury. Played only 46 times for WBA in the league before an October 1968 move to Sheffield United, where he appeared 360 times! Local lad who signed professional for West Brom. in 1959. Moved on to Northampton in June 1968 after 79 league appearances for the Baggies. Joined West Brom. from Aberdeen in 1963 for 25,000. Made 255 league appearances before a January 1971 move to Nottingham Forest. Another team legend, with 331 league appearances for West Brom. between 1960 and 1972. Moved on to Birmingham then Sheffield Wednesday. Later returned as West Borm's chief scout. Goole lad who was signed to Scunthorpe from Goole Town in 1960. Moved to WBA in 1963 for a league career of 281 appearances for the Baggies. Later returned to coach Goole Town!

Joined Chesterfield in 1960 and made 110 league appearances for that club. Signed by WBA in January 1967, and made 250 league appearances for West Brom. Had a long career with Coventry, 230 league games, between 1962 and his 1968 transfer to West Brom. Stayed less than a year before a transfer to Nottingham Forest. Later went to Swansea without success. Few opportunities at West Brom. between 1963 and his 1969 move to Bristol Rovers where he enjoyed more first-team appearances. Played for Burnley for 9 years before a transfer to West Brom. in December 1966. Made 143 league appearances for WBA in a career lasting until 1970. Played his entire career at West Brom. from signing in 1955 until retirement in 1969, with over 300 league appearances. After his playing career ended he traveled the world as a coach.
