Nigel's season summary: Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed some excellent results in the early 1960s, including a 1966 F.A. Cup Final loss to Everton, but were beginning to lose some of that form. They finished 15th in 1968/69 and were relegated the following season.

Began career with Wednesday before moving to Doncaster in December 1969. Moved to Lincoln in 1973 where he again had success. Later a manager with a no-nonsense aproach. Over 150 games with the Owls before a move to Mansfield in 1972, then to Lincoln in 1973 for another 170 appearances before ending career at Watford. Later assistant manager with a range of clubs. Long spell with Wednesday from 1962 to until a 1970 move to West Ham. Short stays after that with Rotherham, Wednesday again, then Peterborough. Later into club management. Wednesday stalwart from 1957 until an October 1969 transfer to Rotherham. Managed over 380 league appearances for the Owls. Wednesday player from 1963 until a December 1969 transfer to Newcastle. Moved back to Sheffield to join United in January 1971.

Joined Wednesday from Chelsea in 1965. 150 league appearances for Owls before a move to Wolves in October 1969. Good career at Wolves before moves to Manchester United and Southampton. Later player-coach at Lincoln then manager of various clubs. Owls legend with 386 league appearances between 1959 and 1970. Joined Bristol Rovers where he stayed on as manager. His sons both made their names as managers, with Gary currently manager at W.B.A. First played for Wednesday in 1963, making 187 league appearances before a transfer to Q.P.R. in October 1969. Centre-forward bought from Stoke in November 1966 for 70,000. Stayed almost 3 years before transferrring back to Stoke in 1969. Now runs his own company (www.ritchies-ltd.com). Over 200 league appearances for the Owls before a 100,000 transfer to Coventry in August 1970. Ended playing career with Bristol Rovers and Chesterfield.

Brother of Ron. Joined Owls in May 1967 when traded for his brother. 8-year career with Wednesday ended when transferred to Barnsley in 1975 where he made almost 200 league appearances. Struggled for first team appearances with Wednesday before a move to Sunderland in June 1969. Struggled for first team appearances there before a move to Lincoln where he made 60 league apperances. Joined Wednesday from Sunderland in June 1965, then moved on to Doncaster in June 1969 where he enjoyed more success. Forward who made 50+ appearances for the Owls before transferring to Liverpool in May 1970. Stayed at Liverpool for three and a half years but with only 15 league appearances (and 7 goals). Moved to Cardiff and then Reading. Spent whole career at Wednesday between 1956 and 1970, with 307 league appearances.
